What would you include in the top 5 rows that Northampton have been involved with?
Shrewsbury King Billy has gotta be up there, Rugby, Swindon, etc

Chesterfield (a) 84/85 season surely up in the annals of history top 5... firm of 300 odd Northampton rioted.. almost non-stop pitch invasions..coming in from every part of the ground..24 arrests.. and all on the train afterwards with a (very) moody looking Millwall firm (at Sheff Utd) who'd taken a hiding off the ICF early at London Bridge... They must ave been still shaken..as note else occurred! ;D

another decent little row in more recent times was bournemouth at home who first got kicked out of sixfields tavern during the game went and got the rest of there firm and the 30 or so of them took a pretty brutal caning on the hill by 12 very game n.a.t. the only downer was the 3/4 arrests six MONTHS later

No particular order but, spion kop against boro (yeah i am that old, lol,). St Neots, mid eighties after Cambridge- crazy day, start to finish. Rochdale away in FA cup- big off when we done their pub before kick off( spreadeagle?? can't remember) and near end of game we left early and attacked their end, that didn't go quite so well, lol! Fair does they had a well tasty firm out that day, but then so did we. Cardiff in the play-offs-mental-started off on the hill and ends up down near the dual carriageway- but they never got done, lofl! That's 4 so at number 5 for me personally would be any one of a number of trips to Chesterfield. Everyone always goes on about 84 and 94, and with good reason, but we also had a couple of major offs with them in the very late eighties, 88 and 89 maybe? They were always a game set of lads whenever we went there, i've got a lot of respect for their older lot.

Northampton Chron 1989
Police Target Soccer 'Crew'
Police in Northampton have unearthed an organised mob of vicious soccer hooligans, who carry 'calling cards' to give to victims. And a top cop has warned: "These people are organised, dangerous and determined to cause as much trouble as they can." The crazed mob, known to supporters as the Haircut Crew, travel to Cobblers' away fixtures all over Britain with the sole aim of causing soccer violence
...
The Northampton thugs are believed to be behind an incident in the Merry Minstrel pub in Rugby on Saturday in which two people needed hospital treatment. Violence erupted in rugby after a special train carrying Cobblers supporters home from a 4-0 defeat by Birmingham City, broke down. About 50 Hooligans went on the rampage letting off a CS gas canister in the Merry Minstrel

All the above sound very familiar....Chesterfield away was always fun, take your pick from many home & away Peterboro especially back in the days of Abington Park.Cardiff in the play offs, Wigan home & away, Swindon away, Luton, Man Utd at the red rover will always come top in many eyes but theres been plenty of fun in smaller games too just when you least expected it...A few of us popped over from Wboro when we played Chester at the County ground, what a mad day that was! Wolves at home as well when united counties laid on buses for them, they wont do that again.... ;D

Sounds like some good rows. Not surprised we get a mention. Bit too young to remember the 80's games you mention, have heard about them though. Remember 94 well though, I was a f**king Ballboy in front of away end. Had me town shirt on. You lot were throwing sticks, stones at me and spraying me with silly string! I was 0nly 11, but it was that game, seeing every thingy faighting in pitch, that first starting to give me fv bug.
P.S. Most CBS got a lot of respect for your lot
